The first interdisciplinary art presentation at the Cloud Gallery—"Echoes of Beethoven in the Years of Vinyl"—was held on March 27th at 3:30 PM. Dr. Leung Siu Ming, the vinyl record expert, deconstructed Beethoven's timeless charm and shared the four dimensions of vinyl records: the origins of vinyl, the golden age, technological leaps, and contemporary echoes. The event received strong support from music and art enthusiasts.

Dr. Leung studied under his father, Leung Kwan-Lau, renowned pianist Professor Zhou Guang-Ren, and Professor Huang An-Jue. After graduating with outstanding results from the Macao Conservatory of Music and Pui Ching Middle School, he went to the United States to further his music career. At the University of Kansas, he studied under the famous pianist and honorary professor, Scott. Over the following twelve years, he diligently tackled various challenges in piano performance. In 1987, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Award. In 1989, he obtained a Master’s degree in Piano Performance with excellent results. He was later awarded a full scholarship by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Government to continue his graduate studies. In 1993, due to his research achievements in music theory, he earned a second Master’s degree in Music Theory and ultimately succeeded in obtaining a Doctorate in Musical Arts, receiving an Academic Excellence Award.

The dialogue between vinyl and piano is a conversation across a century of musical technology and artistic history. When the crackling sound of vinyl meets the heroism of Beethoven, we "touch" history with our ears—what is etched in the polyethylene grooves is not just notes, but the breath and heartbeat of an era.
